Its a Jungle...

Okay,so the initial plan was to do some fun recording of some of the chord patterns and phrases I've been coming up with in the dark wee nights of winter that are currently lit up by a whole lotta snow..
Before you do anything you should always do some research and have a look around. Most salesmen will try and sell you whats left at the shop, thats been the case so far unfortunatly.
So, ive read, and read some more and discovered the same issues you face when buying a new computer.First thing your worried about is if its gonna be out of date within 6months and your running slow off the bat.
The amount of gear that is coming out, as well as software, is more and more. For the pro guitarist the eleven rack seems to be the best setup. And at the same time you get to start off the recording carreer with pro-tools.This has its fans and it also has people who reckon theres better.Cubase is another monster.
So, after all the research and wading thru the jungle, I'm back at the start to be honest.Well, almost.M-audio have some reasonably priced 4x4 and 8x8 track devices which are very well priced.Around 350euros gets you an 8 x 8 and half that gets you a 4x4 .You can then use your own software package.I would probably take a serious look at Propellerheads "record".
Well, back to the machete and heading into the jungle, feeling like Indiana Jones..(senior)..
8 x 8 backend

8 x 8 front

4 x 4

although...this may be worth the extra effort..
