Creative Suites
On friday I had an opportunity to deek into the world of people who have been , så kallad,"been there, done that and bought the så kallad T-shirt".
It was really cool to look thru a whole bunch of guitars which are basically built for a completely diiferent set up, BCRich Gunslingers, Ibanez 80s, Tokias, JV models..list went on..low string heights, kahlers, floyd rose, bright colours and some really nice modern C shaped necks..
That was only the guitars , what was even more interesting was an insight to the chaps home recording facilities and what he had been working on.
Some really interesting songs that had the listener not only listening to the rhythms but also the text and the small details that matter.
Outta of having a wee listen to some of his more modern toons I also got to listen to some older styles which aslo showed there was real talent here.
What I found more fun is to be among people again who really hear the details.Too many people that I work with, in a proffessional manner or coaching capacity, don't really care about the details, like the rhythm sections in Freewill by Rush, or the way players suddenly change the grain in a rhythm and all of a sudden your wondering where its leading you..
I can't wait to get started with doing some really basic stuff on my own.It wont be on the same proffessional level, but if your not enjoying yourself with something you shouldn't be doing it.
